How to Get There?

Rosie Goldsmith on the outskirts of the village

The closest airport is Pisa, 1¼ hours away, with frequent and reasonable British Airways, Ryanair and EasyJet flights.

You can also fly to Genoa, about 2½ hours’ drive from Vergemoli, and to both Milan Malpensa and Milan Linate by EasyJet and Ryanair, about 4 hours’ drive.

Whichever airport you arrive at, there are buses and trains, which will get you to our local train station (Barga-Gallicano), and taxis from there to the village. But generally it is difficult to manage without a car, so for ease and speed hire a car – very simple at the main airports.

You can also drive the whole way to VERGEMOLI from the UK, as we often do. We can supply full and clear driving instructions, should you choose to do this. There’s good parking in the village, although the village itself is mainly pedestrianized.
